The Southern Arcano Mountains are deep inside Reyano Territory. These peaks are lower than the Northern Arcano Mountains, and the climate here is dryer. The peaks are mostly covered with dry grass and scattered with pine trees, as the rocky ground is not ideal for growing things. The foothills begin from the Lost Canyons, growing out of the sandstone and becoming mountains rather than mesas. To the north, where the Southern Arcano Mountains touch the Northern Arcano Mountains, the Needle--an enormous cliff-like peak--separates the two territories. The land here is rugged and dry, and only the tough, strong horses can survive in these barren hills. Nestled between two peaks of the mountains is the Hidden Valley, the place where the Castovar River begins its course. The land there is lush and is the only part of these mountains that is easy to survive in. Wolves roam these hills constantly, and lone brown bears occasionally pass through. Eagles, deer, and small mammals live here as well. Patrolled vigorously by the Reyano Herd, this land has been claimed as part of their homeland, and trespassers will not be tolerated.

When it comes to meeting a predator, the player can chose the outcome. Please keep in mind that lone horses will be vulnerable to predators, while groups will have a better chance of escaping unharmed. When a predator targets a harem of horses, they will seek to separate the weak and young. If your horse is young, old, or injured, be aware they will be likely to be targeted unless defended. Please keep all interactions with predators realistic. No horse can escape every encounter unharmed.
