The Eastern Border of the Reyano Herd is the end of the Lost Canyons and the beginning of the Flatlands. The place where the sandstone mesas and dry riverbeds of the Lost Canyons end, and flat desert starts marks the Border of the Reyano Herd. The towering wall of the canyons looms over the desert, making a clear distinction between the two territories. The largest path into the Lost Canyons is the point that the Castovar River emerges from the cliffs. Here there is water and grass, and a pathway deeper into the canyons. However, the Lost Canyons are part of the Reyano Herd homeland, and tresspassers found wandering inside the canyon walls will be be chased out immediately. Should a Lone Spirit wish to join the Reyano Herd, they must wait just inside the canyons wall, by the Castovar River, for a patrol to confront them. Should the patrol decide they may have the potential to join the herd, the Lone Spirit will be taken to Lord Descaro for the final decision. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This territory is part of the Reyano Herd Border Outskirts. Lone Spirits found here will be challenged, but will not be chased off immediately. Should a Lone Spirit seek to join the Reyano Herd, they must venture into a Reyano Border Outskirt territory and be challenged by a patrol.
* Dangers: Cougars, heat, dehydration, fatigue* When it comes to meeting a predator, the player can chose the outcome. Please keep in mind that lone horses will be vulnerable to predators, while groups will have a better chance of escaping unharmed. When a predator targets a harem of horses, they will seek to separate the weak and young. If your horse is young, old, or injured, be aware they will be likely to be targeted unless defended. Please keep all interactions with predators realistic. No horse can escape every encounter unharmed.

Black hooves plodded into the dry ground of the Reyano Herd Border Outskirts. Robin's brown eyes reflected boredom and slight annoyance as she moved her light frame over the terrain and through the grasses. The piebald mare was young, but she wasn't stupid. She avoided the small boulders and rock piles that were speckled across the land. She didn't want to risk breaking a leg or twisting an ankle while in the possible presence of the Lord of these lands. Robin lifted her head, her tall frame allowing her to look over a large portion of the lands from the top of the dusty hill. She couldn't see any other horses, no Lords, Betas, mares, or foals. The paint mare clenched her jaw in slight annoyance while scanning the land once more. Nothing. Out of habit, she dipped her head down, biting off the top of a clump of grass. Robin's face twisted into one of disgust as the taste of the dry dead grass hit her tongue. She coughed twice, spitting the dry stalks out onto the ground. She flicked her ears back for a moment while she glared at the gross grass on the ground. Her ears then return to a side-ways, semi-relaxed position. Her left hind leg cocked up while she waited for any signs of life other than herself and the pesky flies that very much so enjoyed pissing her off my landing on her face, back, and legs. Robin twisted her head from side to side rapidly, tossing her mane from side to side and dispersing the flies on her back. The day grew longer, and the sun beat down harder and harder with every hour that Robin stood standing in the sun. She was beginning to get irritated by the heat and lack of horse presence, so she decided to take matters into her own hooves. If no patrol was looking over the borders, she would make one come. The bi-coloured mare bounced once on her front legs, then reared up, released a shrill whinny while she struck out at the air. When she landed, she wore a grin of satisfaction as her high-pitched sound echoed throughout the canyon. Robin made no attempt to shelter herself fro the sun. Her tall frame would not be completely covered by the shadow of even the largest shrub in the area, and it would make it harder for the Lord to find her. Her attitude was deteriorating quickly within the heat, and if she didn't interact with some horse with her current attitude soon, they would not have a good time. Whinnied for: Lord Descaro and Beta Ronokoro

Jasper's steps were sluggish as he made his way through the unfamiliar, barren terrain, dehydration quickly sapping at what was left of his energy. He and his companion hadn't been traveling for too long, but the territory was airless and hostile, and it apparently didn't take too kindly to trespassers. Hopefully, that wasn't the case for the Lord controlling it. Jasper had grown tired of living without a herd and no matter how much he enjoyed the disorderly life of a lone spirit, he knew that it was in his best interest to settle down. Especially now that he was traveling with helpless young Boundless, who relied on harebrained Jasper far more than he should. By the time the sun had reached its peak within the sky, the two horses would have found the river that ran its way into the heart of Reyano territory. The Clydesdale stallion had been made ecstatic by the discovery and hadn't wasted a second before plunging his head within the current and lapping up mouthfuls. He'd only allowed himself to rest for a few moments afterward before picking up the pace once more. The two had then followed the river, with Jasper attentively scanning his surroundings for any sign of life. None so far, but this didn't deter him. He was sure that someone would pop up sooner or later. This hopeful mindset did eventually pay off. As Jasper was leaning back towards the river to take in a few quick laps of its refreshing contents, a shrill whinnying had his ears rotating sideways and his head lifting instantaneously. Quickly shooting Boundless a glance in order to assess his reaction, the sabino equine was swiftly moved back into a steady jog, altering his path so that he may follow the source of the cry. He was surprised by how hastily his own hooves clopped against the dusty floor. Had he always been this excited to join a herd? Jasper only realized that yes, he had, when the blurry figure of a black-and-white mare reached his chocolate eyes. Keeping his pace steady so as not to seem too enthusiastic, he made a beeline straight towards her. The second she was within earshot, Jasper said brightly, " Hello." Then, " Are you part of the herd here?" He slowed to a stop when he was only a few strides away. tagged ; Boundless , Robin

Boundless was having trouble keeping up with Jasper's longer strides. He was constantly falling over due to the rough terrain and had trouble keeping up with his long-legged brother. He kept his eyes on his travelling companion, who somehow seemed to be doing fine amidst the blistering heat. By the time they had reached the river, Boundless's knees felt like they were going to buckle. Seeing the river, he wheezed and shot his head into the cool, comforting current. Only moments later, Jasper decided to continue walking and Boundless begrudgingly removed his head from the soothing paradise to follow him. This time he kept a more steady pace, not lagging too far behind the larger horse. The aches and pains that he'd felt in his legs earlier were beginning to return as they continued to travel further into the herd's territory. He felt excited knowing he'd have a large territory to roam in and the protection of a herd against predators but disliked the thought of spending the rest of his days interacting with the other herd members and having to live out his days in these rough lands. He glanced back at Jasper and picked up his pace until he was beside the stallion. After only a little while of walking, Boundless was relieved to see that Jasper was heading back to the river and giddily followed him only to be interrupted by a high-pitched whinny. The yearling angled his ears to locate the noise. He made a disappointed grunt when he saw Jasper turn around and run in the direction of where the whinny came from. Boundless reluctantly followed him, searching the clearing for any sign of another horse. After a few glances around the terrain, he spotted the hazy shape of a black and white horse. When they reached the horse, he instinctively shot behind Jasper, poking his head curiously from behind him. He watched as Jasper said asked the stranger if she was a part of the herd. He cast a nervous glance to the Clydesdale, half expecting him to anger the horse and cause a fight. JasperRobin

Robin squinted her eyes towards the innards of the canyon. She could've sworn that the river had been disturbed by a large grey stallion, possible the Lord, but he was too far away, and she couldn't tell for certain. Her silence was disturbed by a male voice saying, "Hello. Are you part of the herd here?" She turned her piebald body to face the voice, expecting to see only one horse, but was met with the sight of two, albeit, one was only poking its small bald face out from behind the Clydesdale stallion. She looked over his frame briefly before flicking her ears backwards once and meeting her gaze with his. "No, I am not. And even if I was, I wouldn't be able to help you much. The Lord's the only one whom can accept us newbies, I believe," Robin spoke, her voice not carrying much happiness, sympathy, or care in general. She shifted her head to the side to look at the smaller horse behind the Clydesdale. She merely huffed once then turned both herself and her attention back to the possible shape in at the base of the canyon. Boundless Jasper Lord Descaro

The stranger wasn't particularly friendly, but that didn't bother Jasper. Oddly enough, her monotonous voice was somewhat of a comfort. It seemed that months with only Boundless as company wasn't as fulfilling as he'd thought--not to offend the smaller equine, of course, it was just that the Clydesdale was a social creature. All horses were. And so at her statement, the dichromatic stallion simply nodded his large head in assent, brown eyes blinking once. His ears were turned towards her, interested but no more than that. Jasper was clearly at ease. The same couldn't be said for little Boundless apparently, though. The lanky thing was hidden behind him, Jasper noted with a snort. Not unexpected but funny nonetheless. Jasper kicked him affectionately with a hind hoof. Once silence had spread between the three horses, the horse leaned down and took in a few mouthfuls of the dry, unsatisfactory grass that this terrain provided. It was something that would definitely take some getting used to, but Jasper swallowed it down nonetheless. It felt good to chew something. He grazed for a little longer, but boredom was quick to catch up to him. How long would he have to wait for this Lord? The stallion wasn't a particularly impatient one, but it would be nice to get out of this blistering heat. At least, it seemed like the canyon walls would grant him that relief. If they didn't, Reyano would be a terribly difficult place to live. Especially with this grass. " How did you hear about the herd?" Jasper asked lightly. His eyes met the mare's turned figure only briefly before he shifted them to the direction where she was looking. Somewhere in the orangeness of the land, there was a hint of gray. A rock, maybe? No, it seemed to be moving. It was a horse--a Lord, maybe! Jasper turned towards the colt tangled in his legs and nudged his head sideways, angling his snout in the direction of the gray figure. He smiled and turned back, taking a little step forward. " Try not to be too weird," the Clydesdale instructed. He was well aware of how uncomfortable other horses sometimes made Boundless, especially larger stallions. " Try to look useful." As if it was some kind of impressive act, Jasper lifted his chin and puffed out his chest. tagged ; Boundless , Robin

Boundless stayed hidden behind his brother, who was waiting for the black and white mare to answer him. He glanced back and forth between the two horses, curious to see what the strange newcomer was like. She responded with a short answer, not bothering to go too much into detail before turning around and looking back into the landscape. He made a soft snort, feeling slightly annoyed at the mare's indifferent attitude to the situation, although it wasn't like he was any better in social situations. Boundless poked his head out further from behind Jasper and kept his gaze on him, hoping he'd do something to break the awkward silence.
Jasper then kicked Boundless softly, he whinnied excitedly, suddenly feeling full of energy. He was about to spring from behind the Clydesdale and buck him softly but his mood was destroyed when Jasper lowered his head to the ground and began grazing. He made a disappointed snort seeing that his brother wasn't going to play and decided stay hidden behind Jasper once again. He watched, bored out of his mind as the stallion continued to graze, somehow managing to stomach the revolting clumps of dried grass. He then followed the strange mare's gaze to see what she was looking at. The yearling saw nothing but a blurry grey blob in the distance, which he thought was just a very large rock on the riverbank.
His inspection was interrupted when he heard Jasper ask the mare how she'd heard about the herd. He then saw Jasper looking exactly where the mare was too and followed her gaze once again. This time, he noticed that the blob was moving and finally understood that it was no rock, but a horse. He felt a pit in his stomach as Jasper took a step away from him and told him not to be too strange. He nodded, suddenly feeling nervous that he'd have to meet a member from the herd. Jasper then told him to look useful and then puffed out his chest. He then did the same, wanting to look as strong as he could in front of his brother. He then crept slightly out from behind Jasper's legs, only letting his chest and front legs be seen while the rest of his body was still hidden.

There was little in the world that broke through the young mare’s mind. There was only the hard-packed dirt beneath her hooves, the plumes of dust kicked up around her ankles with each cantering step. There were only the water-starved shrubs and the scrub grass stalks brushing at her lower legs. There was only the towering cliffs of redstone in the distance, marking the canyons that were her destination. There, the river carved its gully into the ancient stone, creating the steep gorge. There, the rumored “Reyano” herd entered their territory, and passed judgement on the mares and stallions who, like Imani herself, sought the companionship of a herd over lonesome solitude. Now, that place was in her sight. A chestnut body gleamed beneath the sun, a sleek form traveling over the scorched earth. Alabaster gleamed against the silken canvas that covered her lithe frame. Her powerful, long legs worked with speed and grace associated with her breed, carrying her with a seeming ease over the terrain. The mouth of the ravine grew ever closer, the walls of the cliffs looming high above her head. As she came closer still, new forms took shake in Imani’s chocolate eyes; a trio of horses, each varying in their appearance, size, and breed. Imani herself was no exception from this rule. Only one of the others gathered was a mare, and a fellow paint to Imani as well. However, rather than chestnut, this mare’s ivory markings were based by onyx. The others were both stallions. One, a clydesdale, stood only a few inches above Imani herself, but it was clear that he was far from full grown. His muscular form was covered by a coat of glossy obsidian, marked by white along his legs, rump, and face. The final male, a mere colt, was much more like Imani in coloration. He was covered by far more of the cinnamon hue than the mare, his only white markings being his bald face and the stockings on his legs. Not long after setting her eyes upon their silhouettes would Imani become noticeable to them as well, had she not been already. Her steady, sure hoofbeats would assuredly be audible to them. The thoroughbred mare would grow ever closer of course, until she was practically upon them. There, she would learn if they were mere loners, like herself, or in fact members of the her where she hoped to find a place. The clattering steps created by Imani’s hooves over the stone would end as she came upon the group. Her dark eyes flashed as she gazed over each one, clear pride gleaming in them as a sign that she would not be easily broken should any of them make a move to try. She was not a warrior, no, that place had been reserved for the strongest -and males alone- in her former herd, and her build was not that of a fighter. But the persevering spirit of one blazed in her, a trait which she hoped would earn her a place living as a loyal follower to the Reyano herd’s lord. “Greetings.” Her voice would ring out over the stone, tranquility smoothness slipping from her tongue as it often did. She was a diplomatic spirit when there was time for such endeavors, and this was one such occasion. She was not one to go prancing about flaunting some sort of desire for dominance or battle, as some in this age proved to be. Instead, kind serenity would gaze upon the mare and stallions joining her in the mouth of the gorge, a smile on her lips. With a toss of her mane, chestnut-hued satin waving over the breeze before falling in a curtain back to her neck, Imani would continue, and introduction curling politely from her muzzle. “My name is Imani, and who might the rest of you be?”

"Fate loves the fearless…" |
Descaro picked up a canter as he neared the edge of his territory. The Lord stretched his dark legs out, racing the river, which was flowing the same way he was running. The river was no match for the stallion's speed, and Descaro felt the thrill of pride run through his wild blood. As the dappled equine watched, the gap between the red-gold mesas widened, and he slowed to a trot, lifting his feathered legs high and raising his tail slightly in a clear but not obnoxious display of dominance.
The black paint had been joined by three other horses by the time Descaro approached them. The first one Descaro noticed was the young Clydesdale, who, even at his age, stood taller than Descaro. A chestnut colt was peeking out from behind the Clydesdale, and Descaro's heart swelled at the sight, though he kept his face impassive. Descaro watched the last horse, a chestnut paint mare, approach from the east as he himself came from the west.
The sky opened up in front of Descaro, land stretching past the horizon to the east. He came to an almost full halt at the edge of the canyons, approaching the group slowly and yet with clear confidence. His gaze immediately settled on the Clydesdale, the only male there who posed a threat to Descaro's dominance. The young stallion had his black and white chest puffed out, which Descaro noted through fierce brown eyes.
The silver-gray Gypsy Vanner tossed his head, striking out at the ground proudly with a single hoof. He then raised his head higher again and watched the Clydesdale carefully for a reaction. Anything less than a complete submission would not be tolerated. Simply lowering his head would be sufficient to placate the Reyano Lord.
Keeping his eye on the young stallion, Descaro glanced at each of the mares in turn, as well as the foal. His eyes softened, letting them know that they, at least, had nothing to fear. He opened his muzzle, and his voice sounded with strong assurance over the now-quiet of the river. Outside of the canyon walls, the river roar was much diminished. "I would like each of you to state your names, and why you are here," Descaro said firmly.
The Lord then returned his gaze to the Clydesdale, his look hardening once again. The glint of a subtle threat could be seen in the dappled stallion's eyes, and he waited for a sign of submission from the young male. He would not go further with his greeting until he knew for a fact that the Clydesdale would not prove to be a problem. template by Magpie of Adoxography

"How did you hear about the herd?" The Clydesdale stallion asked from behind her. Robin huffed and turned back to face the large male, but before she could, he was already assuring the small colt behind him. When he puffed out his chest and lifted up his large chin, the piebald mare rolled her eyes. Foolish move, and not thought out much at all. It was then that the sound of hooves hit Robin's ears, and she spun towards the figure she assumed to be the Lord, expecting the sounds to be him, but was disappointed when the greyish blob had only come a small bit closer. When she looked in the opposite direction, she saw the figure of a chestnut mare, also a paint, approaching the group. When she felt the new mare's eyes on herself, she flicked her ebony tail up once, expressing a slight amount of annoyance. “Greetings,” the new mare spoke, her voice as silky as her pelt. Robin merely gave her a small head bob in response. “My name is Imani, and who might the rest of you be?” Imani questioned the remaining anonymous trio. Robin was about to answer with a somewhat sarcastic remark, but the sound of heavier hooves plodding against the rocks caught her attention. The first thing to turn towards the sound was her ear, then her head, then the rest of her body. He was magnificent, his coat a gleaming dapple grey, and his build strong and powerful. His gaze hadn't turned to her yet, so she followed his. She smirked when she saw his glaring at the Clydesdale stallion whom had so foolishly lifted his chin and puffed out his chest. Robin held back a chortle as the admirable grey Lord struck his hoof onto the stones and tossed his head, his gaze still locked onto the much larger Clydesdale stallion. When the grey stallion finally turned his gaze away from the young Clydesdale and looked at each of the mares, his eyes were softer than they were when he was glaring at the other stallion. When he had turned his gaze to the other mare, as well as the foal, Robin narrowed her eyes secretly at the smaller stallion. She wasn't intimidated by him, not in the slightest. She was 2/3's of a foot taller at the shoulder than the grey Gypsy Vanner, and was readily available to lash out and battle him. She did respect him, however, and didn't dare to speak out of line in his presence just yet. "I would like each of you to state your names, and why you are here," the rich vocals of the stallion called out over the sounds of the river. Robin's ears flicked backwards then forwards again. He didn't have to yell, they were all right there. The piebald mare flicked her gaze between the three other horses at the scene, making sure that none of them were going to speak before she was. "Hello Lord, my name is Robin, and I am here to join you and the stallion I am assuming to be your Beta in your herd. I believe that I could be a valuable asset to this herd," Robin's voice was slightly curt, and quite business like as she talked to the Lord. A ghost of a head dip was the movement that accompanied her small speech, as well as a blink. While she waited for the rest of the horses to talk, she took the opportunity to observe all of them as a group. Without the Beta present yet, she was the second tallest horse at the top of the canyon, second only to the Clydesdale, an obvious winner. She noted that information down, who knows, she might be able to use it later. Lord Descaro Beta Ronokoro Jasper Boundless Imani

She ignored the question, which made Jasper look over to her a little questioningly but he didn't think much of it. So what if she wasn' the talkative type? He'd squeeze a conversation out of her someday. Or a smile, in the least. Following the piebald's gaze, Jasper let his brown eyes wander over the orangish expanse and noted excitedly that the 'rock' had moved closer still. With a twitch of his ears, however, the Clydesdale realized that the steady clip-clopping that ran through the air didn't come from that direction. Craning his large neck around, Jasper spotted a brown-and-white mare trotting steadily towards them. The stallion's eyes were approving, and when he felt her own gaze land upon him he made sure to snort--just to make sure that she really was giving him some attention. When the new arrival spoke, Jasper let a small smile overtake him. He mimicked the piebald mare's nod, though his was notably friendlier. Just as the mare next to him was about to answer, both of their attentions were diverted to another direction: the Lord was extremely close now and Jasper made a point to return his body to its proud position. The younger stallion could see the Gypsy Vanner studying the small group but didn't stiffen once he felt himself being watched. With as much authority and power as you'd expect of a Lord, the silvery stallion struck at the floor with a strong hoof. With the stranger's gaze firmly welded to Jasper's, it was hard to miss the direct challenge. The Clydesdale's pink nostrils flared, and his eyes hardened only slightly. His smile broadened. How fun would it be to fight the Lord? Tear a few good mouthfuls of his mane off? Even the thought of it sent adrenaline rushing madly through Jasper's veins. He stood still, mulling it over enthusiastically as the paint introduced herself as Robin. He was about to take a bold step forward when he was suddenly very aware of little Boundless standing behind him. He could feel the heat from the littler one's pelt radiating onto his own sizzling coat. Glancing back momentarily, Jasper could see the small chestnut outline of his chest and the stick-like shape of his legs. Sighing, Jasper looked back longingly towards the Lord. He stepped backward, head lowering as infinitesimally. He averted his gaze only for a moment or two before returning it in order to judge the other's reaction. " I'm Jasper," he said. His tone was as warm as the sun and his smile mirrored it. Shuffling out of the way, he left Boundless out in the open so that the colt could introduce himself as well. He'd also let Boundless tell the Lord why they were here... it was probably the smarter thing to do, especially after the little hiccup in their meeting. If the shorter equine were to look over, Jasper would provide him with an encouraging nod. tagged ; Boundless , Imani , Lord Descaro , Robin

Beta Ronokoro | Coming up close behind his Lord, Ronokoro slowed down to a slow and steady walk, his huge, thick hooves clopping and leaving their mark in the terrain below, stirring up small gusts of dust that settled and dissipated among his ankles. Muscled that rolled over his bones and under his pelt slowly came to a still with his body, his tail swaying one last time before it, too, came to a stop. He observed the horses in front of him. His dark black eyes scanned the horses in front of him, curious about who had come to join the herd.
A slimly built, tall Nokota mare who introduced herself as Robin. A very large, solidly-built Clydesdale male stood with his chest puffed out. However, Lord Descaro made sure to assert his dominance. The second mare there had bright chestnut and white making up the colors of her pelt. The last horse there was a young mustang stallion lingering close to the Clydesdale, and immediately Ronokoro was pleased. He was glad to see youth wishing to join the herd, for the adults shaped the youth and the youth shaped the herd and its future. If this young one becomes a part of the herd, he could be shaped into quite the asset.
Ronokoro stood beside his leader, but slightly behind him, his face aligned with Descaro's shoulders, though he did not hang his head that low. As the Lord of the future herd raised his head and struck the ground with a hoof, Ronokoro watched quietly, observing. The beta's gray and dusty-rose-colored mane shifted on his neck slightly as he raised his head an inch, watching for the group's observation. Ronokoro knew in his mind that every word and movement may be assessed by the beta and Lord, taken into factor about these horses' potential. They were a fine, sturdy-looking group, no doubt, but looks could not tell as well as actions. |

Boundless was still hidden behind the large Clydesdale when yet another horse made it's way toward the small group. The newcomer was a chestnut mare who was now scanning the group. She was most likely another horse hoping to join the herd, seeing as she hadn't come with a patrol. He glanced at the black and white mare, and then back to Jasper, curious to see their reaction. He then turned his gaze back to the chestnut mare. The yearling continued to watch her as she began to speak, introducing herself as Imani and asking them to present themselves. As he waited for the others to introduce themselves first, he decided to poke his head out further from behind Jasper to get a better look at Imani. The thoroughbred's pelt was a different shade of chestnut then Boundless' and she seemed to have the same white patch design as him. The yearling then heard the sound of heavy footsteps and shifted his gaze to discover who's footsteps he'd heard. The sound had come from two large stallions, each tall and mighty with an air of elegance to them. One of the stallions, a tall and grey Gypsy Vanner scanned the group. Boundless noticed Jasper take a step away from him and felt the pit in his stomach he had earlier felt return. Was Jasper really going to get into a fight here? With who seemed to be the lord of the herd? His brother then turned his head and met his gaze, and then seemed to submit a bit more, taking a step back from the tall, grey horse. The grey Gypsy Vanner then asked everyone to introduce themselves and state why they're here. Boundless watched as the black and white mare introduced herself as Robin and as Jasper introduced himself. He the saw Jasper walk out from in front of him and he held back a panic attack as soon as he was left out in the open. The mustang weakly cleared his throat and shakily said "I'm Boundless, my brother and I were hoping to join your herd". Boundless then made sure to keep his head low out of respect for the lord Gypsy Vanner and waited to see what would happen next. Lord Descaro Jasper Imani Robin Beta Ronokoro

The young mare took easy and careful strides through the area, just as her mother had taught her. On the contrary, her head was held high as if she were of great authority upon the oddly smelling land. It was mainly rocky and dusty, something she constantly had to clean off her pelt. The grass was unpleasantly dry and cracked, and under the burning sun Deziree felt like she was being confronted by the devil himself. But then, she was only fussing because all she was doing at the moment was walking. That was, until she caught sight of a group of horses in the distance, whom she was now a mere few meters away from, and she had arrived just in time. At first it hadn't really been in her intentions to join a herd, but since being alone the foal had missed company more and more, something she had not found besides the wandering other animals.
As soon as Deziree caught sight of the large male standing before all the horses, her head was forced down into a deep bow against her will. He looked threatening enough, and although she liked being at the top herself, it was a difficult contrast between dominance and acceptance that she didn't want to play around with. Though she had not caught the large stallions request, she had heard one of the others providing his name and intentions, a stallion who happened to look about the same age as herself. Deziree only cocked an invisible brow at the young male briefly before rudely turning her cranium back toward the Lord as she assumed. Once things grew quiet, she proposed that she had the opportunity to speak finally. " My name is Deziree," she began fluently in her high-pitched vocals. "And I too wish to earn a place within your herd, sir." she finished, nodding her head briefly.
Deziree only glanced toward the other foal once before moving on, her eyes trailing the other figures that stood before this Lord. Two stallions and two other mares, not including herself, all adults besides the one who had named himself Boundless upon her arrival. On the other hand, the two males that were obviously apart of the herd both held an authoritative aura, and so she assumed they both claimed high titles.

No sooner than the question had left her lips, the sharp sound of hooves against stone echoed through the gorge. The steps were heavier than her own, and a simple crane of Imani’s neck told her why: approaching was a Gypsy Vanner stallion, his sleek coat dappled gray and silver. The pride and dominance in his posture and gait sent a clear enough message that he was the lord of this place. With her interest piqued, Imani’s chestnut ears pricked attentively towards the approaching stallion, chocolate eyes roaming the mesas as they followed him.
As the silver-gray male came to a halt, his pace having slowed from a canter to a trot to a standstill as he came ever closer, a single hoof stamped against the earth. The sound rang out, sharp and impossible to miss. Imani watched with intrigue, curiosity and excitement for the coming moments -which would, of course, decide her future- dancing in her expression. The mare noted the coldness with which the stallion examined the young clydesdale, whose puffed-out chest and pride were surely taken as an expression of dominance, a threat to the lord, whether they were intended to be such or not.
Behind the lord, the chestnut paint noticed another equine, this one a percheron stallion. He was adorned by a pelt of dappled silver and iron-gray, though his face was bald, sheer white. His mane was a highlighted mix of black and gray-brown. He carried with him an air of some authority, though it was far lessened from the lord’s. It was enough, however, to make her wonder if he was the herd’s beta, the second in command.
A strong, confident voice echoed over the drone of the river carving through the canyon. “I would like each of you to state your names, and why you are here.”
The black and white piebald mare was the first to speak. "Hello Lord, my name is Robin, and I am here to join you and the stallion I am assuming to be your Beta in your herd. I believe that I could be a valuable asset to this herd." Imani looked to her fellow mare, flicking a single red-brown ear. Having not been given the chance to meet them before the lord’s arrival, Imani was pleased to have this opportunity to at least learn their names.
"I'm Jasper," came the next voice. It belonged to the young clydesdale. While his tone and smile were friendly, Imani noticed the underlying expressions: his stance, only just now lowered despite the lord’s clear warning from beforehand, the excitement in his eyes just seconds before he had spoken. He was interested in fighting the lord, as so many young stallions were, but the idea frightened Imani to some extent. She had no feelings of disgust harbored toward battle, it was a part of a wild horse’s life. However, it had been only two years before that Imani’s father had fallen to death at the fault of a young, brash male, and it was not among her desires to witness a possibly deadly battle of the same sort once again.
The clydesdale took a step to the side, bringing the mustang colt fully into sight. The poor young creature’s voice was shaky as he spoke. "I'm Boundless, my brother and I were hoping to join your herd.” For a moment, Imani was somewhat confused; she assumed that Jasper was the ‘brother’ he spoke of, though it seemed to the chestnut mare that they were not related by blood. However, she brushed the thoughts away. Families came in many shapes and sizes. Perhaps they were half brothers, or perhaps the colt was adopted. At any rate, if they considered each other brothers, that was to be respected.
Imani’s lips parted as she prepared to speak, but a small voice took her place. The mare’s cranium swung about so that her eyes could find the owner of the voice. It was a filly, a young appaloosa with a white base coat and spots of dark brown. Gray shaded her face. "My name is Deziree, and I too wish to earn a place within your herd, sir." As she listened to the foal’s voice, Imani wondered what had become of her mother. It was often devastatingly common for a foal to lose their parents, even when living within a herd. Pity churned in the mare’s stomach.
It was, at this point, Imani’s turn to speak. She lowered her head into a gentle, respectful bow, raising it only slightly to speak properly to the lord. The chestnut paint’s words flowed from her lips with honey-like smoothness. “I am Imani, and I come to ask for a place in your herd, as well as to offer you whatever skills I may.”

"Fate loves the fearless…" |
The black paint mare spoke up first, her voice strictly business. Descaro's brown eyes moved to her, watching her carefully as she gave her introduction. "Hello Lord, my name is Robin, and I am here to join you and the stallion I am assuming to be your Beta in your herd. I believe that I could be a valuable asset to this herd," she said, dipping her head respectfully and blinking. Descaro gave a small nod, then moved his gaze to the Clydesdale.
The young stallion's eyes were bright with excitement, and Descaro met his gaze with hard indifference. If a fight was all this stallion wanted, then a fight he would most certainly get. However, with a glance at the chestnut foal, the black sabino stallion lowered his head the smallest amount, stepping backwards. Descaro took a tiny but very deliberate step forward, his body language clearly showing that he had won this nonverbal battle, and that he accepted the Clydesdale's submission. "I'm Jasper," the male said after a moment.
The foal, now the center of attention, looked quite panicked. "I'm Boundless, my brother and I were hoping to join your herd," he said shakily. As Boundless was appeared almost glued to Jasper's side, it was clear who he meant by "my brother". Descaro accepted the strange pair without question. It seemed to him that as long as Boundless was around, Jasper wasn't willing to pick a fight, at least for now.
As he turned to the last mare, Descaro caught sight of a gray and white blur. The horse approached them, and Descaro realized it was just a young filly. She lowered her head into a deep bow, her thin legs holding her delicate body carefully. "My name is Deziree," she began in a high-pitched voice, "And I too wish to earn a place within your herd, sir." Descaro nodded at her, his heart swelling.
The last mare, the chestnut paint, bowed her head as well, and then spoke. “I am Imani, and I come to ask for a place in your herd, as well as to offer you whatever skills I may.”
Descaro's gaze moved to each of them in turn, and then he spoke once again. "My name is Lord Descaro, and I am the leader of the Reyano Herd here. My Beta, Ronokoro, and I are willing to accept you all into our herd." Descaro glanced at the Percheron as he said this, lowering his head as quick apology for speaking for the stallion. "Listen carefully: I am going to lead you all back through the Lost Canyons now. The paths in there are twisted, and if you get lost there is a good chance you will never find your way back out. One day you will all know these trails by memory, but for now you need to take care not to wander away."
Ending his small speech, Descaro turned to Ronokoro, raising his head to speak quietly so that no one else could hear. "Will you stay here for a little while? At least until sunset? If anyone else comes, bring them with you. We'll be going slowly; you should be able to catch up. We'll just be on the Castovar Path, along the river. Thank you."
The Lord dipped his head, then turned back to the new horses. "Follow me, then, if you still wish to join Reyano." Without another word, the Gyspy stallion turned and trotted off, back inside the canyon walls. Red sandstone soon enveloped him. They would be traveling along the Castovar River, which ran deeper into the territory. The path next to the river was fairly wide, and wound straight through the canyons. As long as they didn't lose sight of the river, the new herd members couldn't possibly get lost.

Robin looked over each prospective member of the herd as they introduced themselves. A surprise young filly joined the band, and Robin internally rolled her eyes. One foal was annoying enough, two was pushing her limits. She then turned her attention back to the Lord as he began to speak, giving her best 'I'm really interested in what you're saying' impression.
"My name is Lord Descaro, and I am the leader of the Reyano Herd here. My Beta, Ronokoro, and I are willing to accept you all into our herd. Listen carefully: I am going to lead you all back through the Lost Canyons now. The paths in there are twisted, and if you get lost there is a good chance you will never find your way back out. One day you will all know these trails by memory, but for now you need to take care not to wander away," The grey stallion instructed the band of horses. Robin snorted quietly at his comment.
"Of course we won't find our way back out. It's called the Lost Canyon for a reason," Robin grumbled under her breath, so that hopefully the Beta or Lord wouldn't hear her. "Follow me, then, if you still wish to join Reyano," The Lord finished his introduction and small speech with the Beta that Robin couldn't quite hear, and began to move away, supposedly to the 'Lost Canyons' that he spoke of previously. Robin hummed slightly and began moving her hooves in the same general direction of Lord Descaro, plodding over the dusty ground and into the canyon walls.
She supposed that the Beta would come with them, but she was mistaken when she didn't see him in front of her in the line of horses that traversed the canyon's path. Robin thought a quick, "Well then!" and moved up to take his place, second behind the shorter dappled Lord. She didn't crowd him however, nor did she rush into the second place in line. She simply walked into it because it was available. While they band of ungulates walked upon the riverside path in the canyon, Robin got a good look at the Lord. He was muscular, strength was obviously important to him, and Robin couldn't help but enjoy the feathering on his legs, watching the long hair move that they walked over the dry ground.

Beta Ronokoro | Another foal came to the borders, a black and white appaloosa mare. Ronokoro was happy to see yet another youth join the ranks, another foal to grow and become the future of the herd. She was more bold than the shy foal named Boundless, though Ronokoro hoped that with time, Boundless would become more comfortable and less jittery around the members of his own herd. At the mention of the Canyon, the mare Robin said something under her breath, but too quietly for Ronokoro to hear and too insignificant for him to care. The lord raised his head to Ronokoro, speaking in a private tone. "Will you stay here for a little while? At least until sunset? If anyone else comes, bring them with you. We'll be going slowly; you should be able to catch up. We'll just be on the Castovar Path, along the river. Thank you." The Beta gave a nod, and watched as the lord turned towards the Canyons, the newcomers sure to follow. His black eyes followed the mare Robin as she took Ronokoro's usual spot behind the lord, narrowing slightly. She kept her eyes on Descaro, watching him as the moved onward. Raising his head high, he looked at the two foals, mare, and stallion that remained, patiently awaiting their departure. A slight breeze rolled through the air, lifting his mane and billowing it a bit, before allowing it to settle back upon the muscles of his grey neck. He lifted a heavy hoof and placed it upon the ground again, a little bit in front of where it had been before. In his mind, he wished for the arrival of a couple more horses by sunset, though his infinite black eyes and straight brow made him appear just as straight-faced as ever.

Lips pulling up into a small smile, Jasper nodded his approval to little Boundless. Then, he glanced towards the black-and-white filly that had come to join them only a few seconds prior. Immediately the Clydesdale looked up, eyes sweeping the rugged territory for any sign of her parents. When none were to be found, Jasper felt that familiar tug of pity nag at him. He'd definitely have his brother introduce himself to her. And who knows, maybe they could wind up being friends... or more. Giving out a hushed snort of laughter, Jasper couldn't help the onslaught of amusement. Boundless with a mate! The sun would sooner rise in the West. Still chuckling to himself, Jasper let himself look back towards the Thoroughbred mare as she had begun speaking. With a honey-like voice, she named herself Imani. Imani. What a nice name. He made a mental note to compliment her on it later. "My name is Lord Descaro, and I am the leader of the Reyano Herd here. My Beta, Ronokoro, and I are willing to accept you all into our herd," said the Gypsy Vanner suddenly. Excitedly did Jasper look over to him, a grin overtaking the smile carved into his muzzle. He shook out the dust from his mane in three quick tosses of his large head as a means of getting rid of some of the energy that suddenly crashed through his veins. The thought of fighting dissipating, the sabino stallion now wanted only to run through the entire territory and explore every inch of it. But, as if Lord Descaro could read his thoughts exactly, the dappled equine went on to warn them that getting lost was definitely a possibility. It wasn't enough to dampen Jasper's spirits. Robin, however, grumbled about how the Lost Canyons had their name for a reason. Jasper breathed out a single 'heh'. After whispering something to his Beta, the massive Percheron that had recently arrived (how fun would it be to fight him?), the Lord ordered everyone to follow him. Robin was the first to follow him, assuming a place suspiciously close behind him. She was odd, that one, but that just made it more challenging. And anyway, if the Clydesdale couldn't befriend her he'd go for the next best thing: annoying her. Maybe he'd be able to irritate her to the point where she resorted to violence! Mulling over the thought, Jasper began a light trot. He'd hang back so that he could speak with Deziree and Imani. As he passed him, Jasper gave Ronokoro a nod of greeting, the grin still etched boldly on his face. [ EXIT to HIDDEN VALLEY ]

Many of the horses looked to her with average interest, some softening up, and others like one mare whom she hadn't caught name of rolling her eyes. It didn't surprise Deziree that many seemed to share pity, although she thought little of it. Truly it hadn't even been a month since the elements of the desert picked away at her mother, her body still probably out there picked apart by vultures and stinking up a mile radius. Deziree shuddered at the thought and quickly threw it away. Deziree had not thought wrong about the Lord. The huge male spoke in a booming voice, naming himself Descaro and accepting them all into the herd. They'll have their hands full, she thought with a tiny smirk. Not shortly after Deziree was already walking toward the Lord in her tall and elegant posture. She hadn't even noticed her head was held high again after the stallion had turned his back, but she would surely apologize if she was scolded. In front of her came the unapproachable mare, and the filly eventually came in line around the middle of the group, right where she was used to in her old stray harem. Not more than three feet beside her, though, came the other stallion named Jasper. The filly side stepped slightly, though she took little notice of him or his "brother". Instead, being as arrogant as ever, Deziree simply kept to herself, gladly traveling along through the treacherous canyons she may very soon call home. As things sloped downwards, the growing walls besides them exploded with vibrant and strange colors, various hues of reds and browns. Deziree studies the walls with interest for a short while, her brown eyes eventually straying down towards Boundless. The colt was about the same height as herself, and generally in fit condition. His personality, however, seemed to take from his build and strange markings. To her, he was like a wimpy little foal newly born and nakedly exposed to natures harsh elements. Deziree tore her gaze away from him, rolling her eyes in the process. He simply wasn't worth her time and effort to befriend. .:Exit to Lost Canyons:.

Summer had seemed to hit the area full force. What little had been alive appeared to be close to dying from heat and current lack of water. Rough hooves moved carefully across the dry ground, moving slowly down another slope towards the sound of water. She didn't want to go to far into the land and risk being run out, but the sound of water was driving the pony sized mare forward. Not much to look at she had a pale yellow pelt with a white mane and tail, one white sock on her hind leg and a blaze that also ran towards her cheek. Despite her size however, she didn't like to back down from things, she was almost like a chihuahua, just pony sized. A big horse in her mind, her body just didn't totally match.
As her hoof slipped under her, the mare snorted. She tried to get her footing back quickly, but not before she hit a sharp rock with her front left hoof. Flicking her ears back, the mare stood in the rocky path, hooves apart somewhat, sides heaving as she looked over the path she needed to take again. Finally she came down from the fear of slipping to her death and took a step forward. As soon as her hoof touched the ground, she rocked backwards onto her other feet, blowing and pinning her ears backwards. The rock had bruised her heel a little bit and so it was now rather tender. The water was nearby, just a short distance away from what her ears were telling her. With slow and careful steps she made her way down the rest of the slope and around a large boulder. Seeing the river finally allowed the small mare to sigh and relax her ears.
It was mid day already, the hottest part of the day and not reaching the water would of caused some major problems. Slowly the mare made her way into the river, closing her eyes to the feel of the cool liquid swirling around her hooves. Her muzzle dropped down into the water, gulping down the liquid quickly. While she drank, the mare glanced ahead, seeing more dry ground, although it appeared a little easier to maneuver across. Mia didn't think she was in a place that would get her run off, but she also wasn't sure if anyone within the herd would be out in the heat. Not worried just yet, she moved a little deeper into the river, using her bruised hoof to splash the surface of the water. With a relaxed nicker, the mare dropped her nose into the water and began to play with it. A time to relax was rarely given so for now she would take advantage.

BETA RONOKORO | A presence made itself aware to Ronokoro, and not a returning horse from the group that had already been sent to the Canyon. He snorted, blowing air roughly from his nostrils and his mouth sputtering a bit. Pinpointing the direction the stranger was in, he turned his body and made his way toward her. Thick, hard hooves make clopping sounds as they placed themselves against the hard rock, the heated ground below The sun beat straight through his dappled pelt and right to his skin, warming him and giving him a strange sleepy, tingly sensation. However, apart from his skin, 'sleepy' was not what he was. He was alert and eager to leave the borders, though he remained because it was his duty. And, well, because there was a stranger at the border, and even if he considered leaving, because he wanted to be with his new herd, his innate loyalty would still keep him here. It was a… small horse? She was drinking playing in the water with her nose, something Ronokoro found quite strange for someone of her age. Ronokoro was not pleased, did she just trot into here and gladly drink their water? Was she even here to join the herd or was she just disrespecting the common phenomena rules of herd borders? He flattened his ears, and drew up to his full height, dominance radiating off of him. Other horses usually made the Beta feel huge, but this mare made him feel gigantic. Head high, he swiveled his ears back and let out a small whinny to get her attention, brows furrowed as he looked her up and down. "What intentions bring you here?" he interrogates her. His voice is loud and prominent, matching his stature. A dry, hot breeze blows a gray and red tress away from his forehead, his black eyes staring into the mare's own. His dominance would be made clear, but not too intimidating. Mia |

Over the sound of running water she could hear someone heading in her direction. Her small ears swilled back towards the approaching horse, but she wasn't worried over the stranger yet and kept playing with the water's surface. Watching out of the corner of her eye the dappled horse came into view. His size was not nothing that bothered her. However he seemed to think his size made him powerful as the stallion stood tall, head high. As his ears swept back with a whinny for her attention, the small mare paused playing in the water and kept watching him. Despite the bruised hoof she was in a pretty cheerful mood today. His words were right to the point, but so dry and boring. The mare snorted, bobbing her head up and down while she hit the water again with her sore hoof.
"You need to relax a little bit. Do you really believe with all the scents around, yours being most dominate around here, that I am here with bad intentions? I am guessing you are a scout of some sort, if you were the lead stallion you would most likely be with your herd at all times." The mare stopped playing with the water to walk out onto the bank, trying her best not to favor the sore foot. Once her hooves were back on the dry dusty ground, she shook her coat, sending drops of water away from her small frame. "While I might not be terribly big, I don't bring any bad intentions with me today. I am not looking for a handout in life, I just am looking for a herd to join. Just because I am not with a head way up in the clouds, doesn't mean I am useless. No one will need to baby me either, I am typically pretty nimble on my hooves."
She was hoping it wouldn't come off as disrespectful, but she was hoping he would relax a little bit. Stress was a killer, maybe he didn't know that. Or maybe he was a little unsure if this small mare was some kind of threat. What kind of threat she wasn't for sure, but she didn't know. Trying and failing to resist the urge to scratch her lower leg, the mare dropped her head down and twisted it backwards to reach her back leg. She worked her teeth over her skin a few times before setting her hind left leg back down. That balancing act thought had stressed her hoof some and she shifted most of her weight off the front left while looking at the stallion in front of her, wondering if she was going to be chased out or accepted.

BETA RONOKORO | Ronokoro was not impressed. If that was how she was going to talk to someone who could decide in a split second that she would not join the herd, then Ronokoro would have to wonder if she had any common sense. The Beta was a horse who thought highly of first impressions and of respect. He rotated his ears back and cocked a brow, looking at her straight in the eyes. He had no tolerance for disrespect or sass, especially towards someone you should be making an effort to have a good impression on. However, it didn't bother him too much, he just took note of how she acted. To be honest, he thought the sharp tongue, although informal, was kind of amusing, compared to the rather serious past couple of weeks he had had. He was not provoked or irritated, or at least he didn't think so, but apparently the mare did. Imagining her acting like this towards the lord, he wanted to smile but didn't. "And I think you need to watch your tongue. If you wish to join a herd, that is not exactly the best first impression to give someone. I am not sure what makes you think I thought you came with bad intentions, your answer to my question simply could have been that you wish to join the herd." Lowering his brow, he flicks his tail and rotates his ears back to face the mare, keeping his face flat and his tone formal. "I do not judge by size. I happen to know plenty of smaller horses who can perfectly defend themselves." It seems to always be the smaller horses who are the feistiest. "I am the Beta of this herd, Ronokoro, and if you wish to join, I can take you to the Lord." He gets his posture slightly ready as if to escort her, though he does not start to walk yet, giving her a chance to speak or prepare herself or whatever she needs to do. Though she had not made the best of introductions, she would not be chased out. His offer to take her to the Lord was legitimate, and if she presented herself well to Descaro, then she would likely be allowed a spot in the ranks. Mia OOC: I love Mia's character |

The dappled grey was a little hard for her to read right now. He didn't seem so pissed off he would run her off, but he didn't appear to soften up a little either. With one ear flicking back lazily she watched the stud as he began his almost answering machine like answer. "..bad intentions, your answer to my question simply could have been that you wish to join the herd." The mare snorted at this, but was willing to let him finish talking first before she would reply. He gave his rank and name, telling her he could take her to the lead stallion. With the slight shift in his posture, her head tilted a little bit. "Sheesh Ronokoro, your harder than these darn rocks!" Carefully she pawed at one of the small rocks in front of her. Hitting a sore spot she twisted her lips a little bit but pushed it away to look at the stallion before her again.
"By the way, I can't see my tongue, it makes me cross-eyed trying." To prove her point she opened her jaws and tried to stick her tongue out to look at it. Failing that she put it back in her mouth. "Everything about you said you thought I was trouble. You acted like a mare enjoying some water was going to turn into a fire breathing dragon and try and eat your face. You didn't have to say it, your body told on you." She shook her head, flicking her tail some before going back to the water and dropping her head again. While she still was thirsty, she also wanted a few seconds to think. After down a few good swallows, her head was picked up again, twisting back to see the grey form again. "I can also almost with dead certainty if you had someone of your same size here in my place you would be harder than a rock if that is possible. Everyone judges on first impression."
Moving to stand in front of him she tilted her nose up towards his, ears one forward and back with her head tilted. "I would like to meet with the lead stallion, but I want to know one thing about you first. Then and only then will I follow. Otherwise I will stay here and play in the river." Pausing for a few seconds the mare heaved a sigh and then went on. "I get that your job is tough and this hard attitude is typical of a male. Tell me one thing though, when is the last time you had fun for even two minutes of your day? Take a nice roll in the grass, a quick non patrol gallop just for the heck of it, or just splashing around in the water on a hot afternoon?" Mia had made sure to keep her name out of anything, she wasn't going to act like the everyday mary sues who wooed their way in with being so sweet and charming and then later the herd would find out they were totally nuts. Better to let the crazy odd side show first, then not have to worry over random surprises.

BETA RONOKORO | Everything the mare did made Ronokoro sure he had never met another horse like her. In a way, that was good. She had not offered a name, but that was fine, it just allowed the Beta to refer to her as almost anything else (that was appropriate, of course). The female was an… interesting one, for sure. She couldn't see her tongue? What an interesting thing to know about a mare you just met, and it was almost enough to barely make him want to smile. Ronokoro really did not want to have to play these games with her, he just wanted to get moving. Holding back a big, dramatic sigh, he turns his ears to face fully forward and opens his mouth to speak. "It will only be appropriate for you to refer to me by my title, Beta Ronokoro," he says to the mare. If they were closer, he would have let her refer to him so casually. However, seeing as they just met, it was not the proper or respectful name to call him. "And if you are taking a display of dominance and not immediate friendliness and rainbows as an air of caution, then you are partially right. If you are taking it as me assuming you are going to suddenly start breathing fire at me, then you are wrong." That was about as close to humor as he would get with her, or with most anyone, for that matter. He raises a brow at her odd question. Briefly, too short a time for anyone to see he was contemplating, he wondered whether he should play along with the mare, or say that it was fine by him if she wished to stay in the borders, and that an escort and granted entrance was a kind enough offer and should not be stalled upon. He decides on the former, assuming that if he chose the latter, the mare would never leave him alone. "I do not have time for that and I do not have time with this." He starts to turn slightly, flicking his red, gray, and black tail and eyeing her. "If you still wish to meet with the Lord, I suggest you follow me." He looks to the sky that begins to set, casting warm colors against the neutral tones of his back and saturating the landscape in richer tones. His eyes return to hers, the reflection of color making them slightly auburn. At sunset, Descaro told him to leave with the Lone Spirits seeking to join the herd (if any had come) and it was practically sunset now. "There will be plenty of time for 'getting to know' me when we are with the rest of the herd." He picks up a hoof, ready to go, hoping that this mare is ready, too. He was eager to be with Descaro and leave this mare to the other horses of the small, new herd; as well as to see what Descaro thought of her. She might just turn to completely jelly when faced with the Lord, suddenly respectful and timid, as a lot of horses did. Mia |

She closed her eyes and sighed inside when he made the stone cold response of needing to be addressed to by title. Will he ever loosen up? Opening her eyes once more she watched and waited, letting him speak his piece. As he turned a little and told her the time was up, she picked her head up a little higher, looking out over the darkening ground ahead. Inside her guts were slightly twisted. How many would she have to worry about? Would she be allowed to stay or kicked out for the way she was? "Fine Beta. Just one day try to have a few moments of fun. It would be a shame for you to die from stress…" She stressed his tittle a little bit, he had made sure to say she needed to refer to him by his title.
Blowing a small snort from her nostrils, Mia glanced sideways at him. "And technically it isn't that you don't have the time, it is your job to keep your herd safe by finding those at the borders and deciding what to do with them, you just can't stand me." Flicking her tail at her flanks, the small mare started to walk in the direction the dappled stallion was facing. He sure seemed very ready to rid himself of his current company. Guess it's now or never. Time to face the even bigger dogs once more and see what happens. Keeping the thoughts back, she instead focused on walking straight and tall. Not that she would look like much, her pale coat had dried water splattered over her legs and belly.
One ear was pointed towards the stallion the other moving back and forth, keeping touch with what was around her. Not paying enough attention to the ground though caused some problems when her left hoof landed on a rock and made her buckle slightly. Jerking her hoof off she pinned her ears and snapped at the rock before trying to sort herself back out and moving along. The bruised heel causing her to favor her hoof just a little but she was trying to do her best to currently mask it. It would not take long to heal, but since it had only been mere hours before, it seemed like it would be forever at this point.

BETA RONOKORO | Not wishing to talk anymore, he awaited her to be by his side. When she buckled, he took a step towards her. However, as she regained her balance, he waited where he was for her. He would keep an eye and an ear out for if she was having troubles with her hoof, and he hoped that it wasn't causing her any trouble or pain. If only some horse who had joined the herd had skills in herbs or healing or something of the sort, but so far, none of them seemed to display such a talent. She might just have to wait and rest for it to heal, unless she had some knowledge of her own on how to fix it.
When she is by his side, he offers her a nod and walks alongside her, flanking her. He was sure she'd get along great with the others, as they all seemed nice. Well, he was unsure about Robin, but he knew that this mare wouldn't take any kind of crap from anyone. She'd do just fine.
